Yesterday I was listening to the Yacht Rock channel on my new satellite radio. Today, I discovered their “First Wave” station. So you can bet that I let my Depeche Mode freak flag fly in the office today. In all fairness, most everybody else was in a training class in the conference room so it was just me in my little area of the building. If my cubicle mate were here, he would pummel me with a ream of paper and make me play 80s southern rock because he just loves the sound of guitars from that era. He and I have a running argument about whether the saxophone in rock music is under appreciated or overblown (sorry, I had to). For him, the saxophone died when Arsenio Hall let an amateur play it on his show all those years ago. No matter how you feel about it, it is certainly a unique instrument.
