With the multitude of movie sequels coming out this summer, I can’t help but think back to the series that is, for me, the poster child for diminishing entertainment value, The Matrix. To me the quality of the scripts just kept getting worse as each of the sequels went along. It doesn’t help that Keanu Reeves is no Marlon Brando, but even I’m pretty sure that Brando in his prime couldn’t say anything memorable with those later Matrix scripts. But I have come to the realization that I am a snob when it comes to less than great movies versus less than great TV shows. I’d still sit through all three Matrix movies than try to watch an entire season of Beverly Hills 90210. Since I don’t want anyone thinking that I’m putting down Keanu Reeves, bring a DVD of any non-Matrix movie he was the star of and 15 points will be yours at the end of Round 2 (before the Double Down Dare).
