One of the modern holiday traditions my kids have is to rewatch the Will Ferrell movie Elf for yet another hundred or so times. At the grocery store, they found some cookie dough with his image in the cookie. But they threw me out of the kitchen when I asked what condiment they were going to put on them. At least I know that movie; there’s been so many versions of A Christmas Carol made, I can’t even keep up with all of the Scrooges anymore. There are some classic tellings of that story, but there have been a few so bad that I’m surprised they weren’t nominated for a Razzie award for the worst movie of the year. For some reason, it has become fashion to bring out the Razzie award winners of fashion: the ugly Christmas sweater.
