My nephew inadvertently made me feel really old yesterday when he said that he doesn’t like to listen to “old people music” like the Dave Matthews Band. He said this while I was singing along to the lyrics of one of Dave’s hits while puttering around in my basement. It got me so upset I had to get in my car and go Ridin’ The Storm out until I calmed down. He only listens to pop music. I’m really going to enjoy introducing him to singers that have also won awards for jazz and R&B music, in addition to pop.
