I just got done watching the Amazon detective show Bosch. While that show is not the subject of a question tonight, it does get me thinking about some of the great detective shows of yesteryear. Somebody here at the office said that Mulder, from the X-Files was a great detective. I just shook my head and reminded him that by the end of the show there were still aliens and secret shadow governments and that Mulder hadn’t proven it to anybody. If that was his goal, I don’t think he achieved it. I do know that I would never be a good detective. I’d like to think that I’d be more like The Dude in the Big Lebowski and shuffle around in sandals and pajama pants or board shorts, with a drink in my hand, and question the nature of the universe before I got to anything resembling a fact.
