I had to put my headphones on at work yesterday because the staff engaged in yet another round of arguing the merits of Android versus Apple. I prefer Android because the names of the operating systems are the closest I can get to sweets on my current diet. I don’t completely deprive myself though. When I’m allowed to snack on nuts, I just add some amaretto to my drink and I get the best of better living through chemistry. That is about all I know of chemistry. I know some of you have actually taken the time to study the periodic table. I never bothered to do it in school, so I don’t think I’m going to start now. There has been a running joke that nobody understands why they took algebra in high school when they never use it as an adult. What we don’t like to admit is the opposite. What is it that they tried to teach you in high school or college, that you never really paid attention and now, as an adult, wished you had? Write down what is was and they circumstances about the last time you needed to know it, but didn’t, and 15 points will be yours at the end of Round 2 (before the Double Down Dare).
