I received a memo at work yesterday commanding me to wear headphones while listening to music. Apparently, declaring my cubicle as the House of Retro Pleasure and playing U2 songs for three hours is not welcomed among my co-workers. I sent a mass email telling them that “they act like they never had love” and I got yelled at for that too. I’m not mad at my co-workers, but some of them are a lot closer in attitude to Ricky Bobby and his family than they are more comfortable admitting. For example, I had to remind one guy that I have a Constitutional right against searches and seizures, so he’d better not be snooping through my cubicle and looking to take my CD collection. We all have to rebel every now and then, so what did you do the last time you were “counseled” by your co-workers or a supervisor at work.
