Yesterday was another battle with the kids in the ongoing war to keep the house clean. At this point, I’m thinking about hiding Petri dishes in their rooms to gauge how clean they are. The only problem with this is that I’ve never bought a Petri dish and have no idea where to shop for them. My biggest fear is that by the time they either find the motivation or the ability to clean their rooms, they’ll all be eligible to collect their Social Security benefits. The middle child says that she’s not worried about Social Security because she’s moving to Canada as a way of getting back at us for living in a place doesn’t get any snow in the winter. She says she’s still working on her list of Canadian cities she might move to when she gets old enough. So while she keeps refining her list, we’re gonna focus on her cleanliness.
