This year’s host-less Oscars ceremony went a whole lot better than the last time they tried doing that. I have to admit that I was a bit amused about all of the op-ed articles of various viewpoints about the volume of non-Caucasian winners this year. It still amazes me how much interest we give to the Oscars, but other major artistic awards, such as the Peabody Award or the Caldecott Medal are virtually ignored by the public at large. This phenomena is not just in the arts. For example, all sports fans know all about the Heisman Trophy, but a much smaller percentage know any of the other awards within the sport. Since most of you have watched the Oscars at some point, tonight you’ll pick up 15 points at the end of Round 2 (before the Double Down Dare) when tell us your opinion of the biggest Oscar snub. Give us 1) the category, 2) who or what film won the actual award that year, and 3) what nominee should have won it. If you can do all three things, the points are yours! (P.S. In case you’re wondering, for me the category is Best Picture and Chariots Of Fire won instead of Raiders Of The Lost Ark)
