A college buddy of mine is continuing his dream of visiting every MLB ballpark in his lifetime. He’s seen games at stadiums that have since been torn down, so this summer he is backtracking to the new stadiums. This past weekend he was in NYC to see the Mets play at the new Yankee stadium to cross that one off of his list. He said that he won’t try to do the NFL stadium tour because, even though teams don’t move all that much, the tickets are just so much more expensive. I like the guy, but not enough to spend two weeks on the road with him, so I lied and told him the cost of my thyroid medications have gone up and I’d have to pass on joining him. I don’t have a problem with my thyroid, but it was the only thing I could think of in a hurry to say “no” without hurting his feelings. I don’t know if that’s considered to be a white lie or not, but I know that I am not the only person who has ever told one to get out of doing something. Write down a lie you told to get out of doing something and when your host is impressed with your deviousness, you’ll be rewarded with 15 points at the end of Round 2 (before the Double Down Dare).
