Here’s a few things I happened to learn this weekend while watching basketball at a bar… a law was passed in in 1975 converting the U.S. to the metric system. I can’t tell the difference between a gallon and a liter or any other metric conversion, but at least I’m not facing a fine or imprisonment because of it. I learned that it was also an act of Congress that standardized our flag into its’ current design and format. I also was surprised to learn from a guy at this bar that his country has more losses is FIFA play than another, but he still cares more about soccer than anything happening at the Olympics.
