I had a chance to watch the Daytona 500 last weekend. They were showing highlights of yesteryear on TV and it got me thinking about the simple beginnings of NASCAR. Its’ start was very different, in many ways, from golf. After the race I… flipped over to one of those travel shows that feature some of the world’s most exotic golf courses. None of them were as easy as my local municipal course, but I still haven’t broken par there either. Maybe I should just stay home, put on one of my Pink Floyd albums and plan my exercise for another day. While they are playing golf in Florida, Hawaii and other southern states, it’s still a little too frosty to play in most of the country.
