At a wedding reception this past weekend, I ran into a girl I used to date in high school. She spent most of her time at the bar polishing off amaretto sours and wondering why she wasn’t the bride. Listening to former classmates gossip about each other made the whole day feel as though I was living an episode of Beverley Hills 90210. The redeeming factor for the day was the DJ who played a hardcore list of every pop, rock, or rap song that made the 80s great for music. Now, I’m trying to figure out if I still have any of my old mix tapes in storage.
